Toa Vahara, the Toa of Time

So for this idea I was thinking, there’s Toa Ignika, Mata Nui and Matoro who have famously worn the Legendary Mask of Life, Artakha wears the Mask of Creation, but the Vahi, arguably one of the most iconic Bionicle masks, has gone without a true owner, a true Toa of Time.

The concept around Vahara is a prototype Toa Mata build, with the narrow abdomen with supporting pistons on either side, with full articulation and poseability, wanted to show a lot of the internals of a Toa’s body with a lot of silver elements representing pistons and motors and actuators that would assist in moving their bodies.

The gear motif was inspired by clocks and their internals, so I went in with the idea of a “Clockwork Toa” design, his left arm is full mechanical, which he channels his powers over time through, the reasoning behind this is that if something were to go wrong whilst manipulating Time, a prosthetic arm would be a lot easier to maintain and replace than a biomechanical one.
