Nature: Walking Cactus
On a world far away,
the galaxy's first walking cactus has escaped from the lab and is wandering
aimlessly about. This genetically modified plant doesn't have any brains, so
even the scientists admit its movements are rather unpredictable. Judging by
those teeth it doesn't look too friendly, so it's advisable to keep a safe
distance from the plant. It was last seen wandering on some rocky hills near
the border of the planet's desert.
Big or small, I love
making rocky LEGO landscapes. With this specific one I used the "Studs Not
On Top" technique (basically building a wall and placing it on the side)
using side connectors to attach the plants onto the surface. I even added tiles
on both ends to make it harder to tell what’s really the "top" or
"base" of the wall.
It may be a small, but
I believe it's a creative and eye-catching scene that will spark interest among
many LEGO builders. Who knows, it may even generate some conversation on which
side is really the "top" and "base"!
