Pirate Joust
I was really inspired by the idea of a classic theme mash up. Looking through some of the other classic sets, I noticed that for many iterations of the Castle theme, a Joust set was created. This immediately brought to mind a set of jousting rowboats, & I knew what I had to do.
I pulled Castle inspiration from set 10223, Kingdom Joust, & basically did my best to create a very similar structure, but with pirate ideas. As for Pirate themed inspiration, I pulled from many different sets for the different sections of the build.
- The floating gate was inspired by 6249 - Pirates Ambush & 6253 - Shipwreck Hideout.
- The weapon platforms & jousting rail both pulled ideas from 6257 - Castaway's Raft, 6261 - Raft Raider & 6240 - Kraken Attackin'.
- The jousters themselves were inspired by 6245 - Harbor Sentry
- The Royal Ship was primarily inspired by 6268 - Renegade Runner, but used a lot of techniques from 21322 - Pirates of Barracuda Bay & 31109 - Pirate Ship
