"Mixed Emotions"
Childhood friends, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are no strangers to conflict, throughout their 70+ year friendship the pair have gone through many rough patches. Most notably in the 1980s when they both refused to record or tour together.
But after a 7 year hiatus, and some reconciliation, The Rolling Stones returned to touring in 1989 with their monstrously successful "Steel Wheels Tour". The Tour spanned 115 shows and grossed over $175 million dollars.
The song "Mixed Emotions" from Steel Wheels represents the rocky, but loving nature of the pair's relationship. Having been performed every night of the '89-'90 tour, Mixed Emotions is a testament to the bands resilience and collaboration.
"Mixed Emotions" is represented by the 300 foot, 8 story high concert stage used on the Steel Wheels tour, designed by Mark Fisher, Mick Jagger, and Charlie Watts.
