The Black Rose
Based on the song "Paint it, Black" - specifically the lyrics: I see a red door, and I want it painted black. and With flowers and my love, both never to come back.
The first line is represented literally with the painting of the door, while the second line is more abstract. The rose, which symbolizes love, blooms out of the paint and away from the grieving man.
One of the main challenges for this model was the separation of textures such that every item was distinct. This led to some fun parts usage including frogs and handbags for the hair, wrenches and umbrellas for the dripping paint, and capes for the rose.
