Family Picnic
One of my family’s traditions is to have sunday picnics in hillside locations, especially during spring and autumn, and it has always been one of my favourite activities since i was a child. We would bring with us sanwiches, caprese skewers (with little mozzarellas, tomatoes and basil), some fruit and a dessert, more often a jam tart.
By building only the food, I wanted to create a set that could represent the definition of staying together and the one of sharing, becase i think that beyond cultures, religions, customs and so on, sitting together to enjoy a meal is one of the the best displays of the said notions, and that’s true in every corner of the world.
For this reason I avoided to represent my specific family, I want that each family, no matter its composition, could recognize itself in this meaning.
With this set of 1026 pieces, besides explainig what family means to me, i want to send love to all the families around the world, because each one of them is valid
