The All American 1967 Ford Mustang!
Hello!
My poster depicts a classic 1967 Ford Mustang fastback driving
along Pacific Coast Highway.
Almost everything is brick built – including
the cliffs, water, sun and stars. The 1967 Ford Mustang fastback itself was
designed to capture the silhouette of the actual car as closely as possible. I
chose the PCH at sunset because of its vibrant colors, iconic American imagery,
and creative building potential. Some details
include:
- Brick-built water for the sunset reflection
- Element colors to mimic light reflection on the mountains (See additional image)
- Scaling and perspective for the background PCH highway
I also tried to capture many hallmarks of the 1960’s era posters,
such as the large bold lettering, small paragraph wording on the bottom, warm
coloring, and centered framing and styling. Finally, I used some light Photoshop work to
achieve a vintage effect (An alternative version is included).
This was a time consuming but fun project and I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for
viewing! :)
