Mustang - Brick Built For Speed

This is my first entry in the retro poster competition.

I researched lots of old Mustang posters and adverts to get inspiration for this and found an old poster I really liked that gave the effect of 2 Mustangs racing past in opposite directions. I decided I wanted to try and recreate this effect with LEGO.

All of the elements you see in the poster are built with LEGO except for the Ford logo and the "1967" numbers.

I started out by designing 2 Mustang cars from scratch and setting them up in a scene with some LEGO plates in the background to create the image below.

I also built all my lettering with bricks including the Mustang logo.

Even the Mustang horse emblem is brick built.

I then combined all these elements and used some photoshop work to blur the LEGO plates in the background and create the effect of motion. Finally I added a tan base plate as the background and added some further photoshop work to give the poster a vintage look and feel.
