Base: Space Elevator

"A space elevator, also referred to as a space bridge, star ladder, and orbital lift, is a proposed type of planet-to-space transportation system, often depicted in science fiction. The main component would be a cable (also called a tether) anchored to the surface and extending into space." - Wikipedia

Whenever I think of space exploration and minifigality spreading out across the stars, I think of space elevators. Towering structures that takes you to and from a planets surface.

I think this would be an especially fun set to build as a MOC base at a larger scale to add more details to the structure. Being limited to 250 pieces max I had to think long and hard which features I wanted to use to make an impression on this. I think the two key features I wanted to highlight with this model here is a highway leading to and from the structure and of course the space elevator column itself.
