Base: Home Base One (Tensegrity)

We all know the adventures of the brave astronauts in space or on distant planets, but where do the astronauts actually live?

 

A micro scale spaceport which is the home of the astronauts floats in the middle of space in the middle of space orbited by a satellite and a spaceship. A rocket with supplies is just arriving and getting ready to docking.

 

The base is held in place by a tensegrity construction, on the base contains 5 inhabitants of the base in minifigure scale, "0-8-15" a standard service robot in light gray, an astronaut in a dark turquoise spacesuit and three space babies representing the next generation of space travelers growing up on board the "Home Base One" space station in yellow, blue and red. The model consists of 240 parts.
