The Penrose Staircase
Today, I present you the lego version of the famous impossible object : The Penrose Staircase :
- The Penrose Staircase is an impossible object whitch have the form of a staircase. It was designed in 1958 by the British geneticist Lionel Penrose, based on the Penrose Triangle created by his son, mathematician and physicist Roger Penrose.
- The Penrose staircase is a two-dimensional representation of a staircase making four turns at right angles, returning to its starting point; according to common perception, the steps form a loop, constituting a perpetual ascent (or descent, depending on the direction of rotation); in other words, there seems to be neither the highest point nor the lowest point.
