One With Nature?

As a huge fan of Voltron: Legendary Defender, I wanted to capture the humor of the show with this comical model depicting one of the Green Lion’s encounters with wildlife on its home planet. Everyone knows cats abhor birds, so my scene imagines the Green Lion shooting a tail laser at an unassuming owl/planet native!

I designed the Green Lion component of the piece and modeled it after the appearance of Pidge’s pal in Legendary Defender, taking great care to include the shield of Voltron on its back as well as a removable laser. The tree component is also modeled after the Green Lion’s planet as depicted in the first episode of Legendary Defender, such as the color scheme of the forest component (tan, brown, and different shades of green). I tried to include creative uses for pieces, such as the frying pans that leaves hang from and the large barrel that comprises the trunk of the tree. The lion can also be removed and moved about the tree.
