Motown: Hitsville U.S.A.
In 1959, Berry Gordy Jr. founded Motown Records, originally called Tamla Records. This company played an important role in popular music, soul and rhythm & blues. Many artists like Smokey Robinson, The Marvelettes, Stevie Wonder, Martha & The Vandellas, The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Four Tops, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Jackson 5, Edwin Starr, Rick James or Lionel Richie recorded their most successful hits with this label. The set is a tribute to the original Motown headquarters in Detroit, and now Motown Museum. This model includes over 2100 pieces and features removable building sections for easy access to the detailed interior, which comprises three floors. The ground level features a record studio. The first level has a lot of instruments like a grand piano, a Hammond organ, a glockenspiel and drums. And on the upper level you’ll find the Motown record library with two record players. This is Hitsville U.S.A, the home of the world famous Motown Sound!
