The Song of the Nibelungs

I admit my entry might seem a little off-topic at first, but let me explain the background to you:

Music is not only today's Rock or Pop music, it has a long tradition through history. In medieval times, music was used to entertain people in a way movies do today.

One of the songs still known today is the The Song of the Nibelungs, an epic poem based on old nordic sagas about the hero Siegfried, who killed a dragon with only an axe, took his treasure and bathed in his blood which made him almost invulnerable. He marries Kriemhild, the King's sister, but is later on betrayed by Brünhild, the Queen, out of a dispute between her and Kriemhild. The King's vassal, Hagen von Tronje, murders Siegfried with a javelin by aiming his only weak spot left after the bath in dragonblood. After the murder, Hagen throws Siegfried's treasure into the river Rhine.

I wanted to use my entry to show the narrative form of music that was used to spread stories before the invention of modern media.
