Vox Continental

Light your fire with this retro transistor organ!

In the 1960s, at the height of classic rock, musicians needed a portable instrument to cover their keyboard organ needs on the road as they toured at home and overseas. VOX, the British guitar amplifier manufacturer and creators of the iconic AC30, developed a small, light version of the heavy electronic studio organs for the gigging musician.

Using drawbars, musicians could select the timbres they wanted to use and the organ would transform their playing into amplified sound through small transistors on the circuit board. The reverse black and white keys (resembling harpsichords from the Baroque era) paired together with the eye-popping orange top became iconic. The Continental was featured on many records from the 60s, including those of the Doors (played by Ray Manzarek), the Beatles, the Animals and the Monkees.

Now you can turn heads with your very own LEGO model of this legendary instrument.
