Retro Stereo
Who wouldn’t want one of these in the 90’ies?
As an AFOL, building a somewhat retro styled stereo was on my mind since this contest was announced. After having spent most of my time on my first entry -a wind-up music box-, this one is designed and assembled in several hours on the last day.
Personally I wanted to build a much smaller model. But the overall size and style of the build ended up being limited to the available piece types.
As a casual build, I mainly focused on the exterior details of the model rather than functionality. There are 295 parts, some of them fairly large pieces. The interior is mostly hollow, however the build is structurally stable.
The player doesn’t open up, instead I used an indication of a cassette inside. I didn’t go for a cassette build for this one, since there are several nice creations from other contestants.
I personally enjoyed building this one. But the most fun part was the recoloring of the finished model. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!
