The Wild World of Music
From Saint-Sains' "The Swan" to Elton John's "Crocodile Rock", the Wild World of Music covers too many genres to narrow down to one idea, so I chose three brilliant pieces of music from 1886 right through to 1972, all with one thing in common: Animals!
The Swan:
Camille Saint-Sains wrote many wonderful pieces of music in the Romantic period, with one of his most famous being "The Carnival of the Animals". In this piece each animal is represented by a different section of the orchestra. The Swan is depicted by a graceful Cello solo.
Octopus's Garden:
The Beatles are an iconic band with many major hits. Octopus's Garden (1969) is one of the few songs written by their drummer, Ringo Starr, and is a catchy tune about relaxing under the sea.
Crocodile Rock:
Crocodile Rock is a brilliant 1972 song by the amazing Elton John. Whenever I hear it I always imagine a crocodile singing the catchy vocal riff and that image is what inspired me to build this entire project! Laaaaaaaaa La La La La Laaaaaa...
