History of vinyl record players

You can't beat a good vinyl record.

Vinyl records truly shaped the music industry. It all began in 1887 when Thomas Edison discovered he could record and play sound on his phonograph invention. Soon after the gramophone, with a brass cone for amplification, was developed to further improve the quality of record playing. The 1940s and 50s were the years where jukeboxes were commonly used in diners and other establishments for playing 45's. Finally, in 1960s and 70s, the average family living room would have a simple record player where the family could play their favourite. After this the music industry began to be primarily based around handheld music players like the Walkman and eventually smartphones.

After the development of these convenient handheld players it is still important that we remember the history behind the technology from the past. This is why I'm commemorating vinyl with this entry.

Thank you for looking at my entry and I wish everyone who entered good luck, thank you!
