The Beach Cabin
The Beach Cabin is a typically Italian architecture, which characterizes the beaches throughout the peninsula.
In Italy the first examples of bathing cabins are very similar to the fixed structures that we still see today in most Italian beaches and date back to 1740 in the carnival city, Viareggio; it is the beginning of the history of bathing cabins, which proceeds hand in hand with the evolution of customs.
The first bathing cabins were made of wood, reeds and fabrics, and had an eclectic style that could go from oriental to neoclassical. The structures were designed for seasonal use, therefore they were assembled at the beginning of the summer and dismantled at the end of the season.
As for the simple cabins, they have the typical gabled or flat and sloping roof, with the typical bright colors that bring joy to those who arrive at the beach to enjoy the sun and the sea!
If you too, when you see these cabins, think of holidays, support this project and happy holidays!!
