Neptune's Temple
This is a fictionalized version of a temple celebrating a sea deity like Neptune or Poseidon. I wanted to create a more fantastical/dreamlike version of the ancient temples of Greece and Rome. My vision was an impossibly built temple high on a rocky cliff with waves (crescent) rolling in and crashing violently below. Inside the temple is a bronze statue, while marble statues line the bridge. Additionally, there are two olive trees high on the cliff, one having been deformed by the strong sea winds.
I built using a micro scale, where the entire model fits on a 16x16 plate, making a nice display piece.
