What's in the Box?

This box was inspired by a similar toy that fascinated me as a child.

A frog can launch its tongue out, wrap it around an insect, and slurp it back into its mouth five times faster than you can blink. Frogs' tongues are about 1/3 the length of their bodies. They're 10 times softer than ours and attach at the front of a frog's mouth. Insects frogs catch can experience 12 Gs, or 12 times the force of gravity, 4 times more than astronauts during a rocket launch.

The frog in my model is attached to an L-shaped Technic beam threaded onto an axle next to a gear, as can be seen in the last photograph above. A gear plate on the inside of the lid turns the gear as the lid opens, thus turning the L beam and propelling the frog out of the water/box. A video of the movement is below. I had a lot of fun building the water surface and the dragonfly, playing around with translucent elements, as you'll see in many of my other builds. This model contains 204 pieces.
