Particle Collider
Particle colliders are at the forefront of physics research into the most fundamental building blocks of our universe. They collide opposing beams of subatomic particles at nearly light-speed so that physicists can study the even smaller particles that emerge from the collisions.
Particle colliders embody all aspects of STEM. They are Scientific experiments using cutting-edge Technology that's Engineered at massive scale and using Mathematics to analyze results.
The build
This 159-piece build depicts a physicist and particle collider studying the elementary particle that is the 1x1 round tile (also known as DOTS)!
The particle accelerators in the collider are a pair of tile shooters pointed at each other. They fire their beams of tiles through the short segments of yellow tubing and into the large hexagonal detector. The detector features a window so that the physicist Minifigure (and our human eyes) can observe the colliding DOTS. Watch the below video to see it in action!
