Oil Derrick Pump
I love oil derrick pumps...
Probably because there aren't any in my neighborhood, so it reminds me of landscapes I've seen when on vacation, in California or Texas.
I never thought of building one in Lego before but this contest seemed to be the perfect opportunity.
- Movement; a rotation movement inducing an upward/downward movement,
- Technology; this is an iconic machine, a testimony of an era coming to an end: the oil age,
- Playability; kids would love to play with this but adults too: I can assure you that you can turn the wheel for hours and watch the head go up and down... This is so relaxing,
- Displayability; it looks so good I want one in my living room.
This would be a great add-on to any Lego City, as you can see on the last picture; the derrick pump in Pizzburg.
The set comes with two minifigs; one business man with a suitcase probably full of money and a working guy with a wrench.
Only 149 parts for this wonderful piece of work, a little more when you add the two minifigs.
