Village Mill and Bakery
STEM may be a modern classification, but its roots in fact stretch far into the distant past. This build represents an incredibly important leap made in technology during the Middle Ages: the transition from hand mills (called querns) to hydroelectric paddle wheels. Medieval mills quickly became a central part of the village, as not only the local lord but also the commoners relied on the miller's services to process their food and products. Many millers also had ovens for baking services.
I found the low piece count on this build particularly challenging and had to axe many details I wanted to keep, but in the end, I did manage to reduce the number to exactly 250 pieces. Features include: an undershot mill race and paddle wheel; a spinning gristmill; an exposed reverse for playability and accessibility (and to reduce pieces); a bread oven; and a product display/sale window. I tried to make this into a build I would want as a GWP and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
