Antique Compass
The compass is one of the most important instruments for navigation. A compass consists of a magnetised needle that can spin freely so that it always points to the Earth’s magnetic North pole.
Before the introduction of the compass, explorers determined direction using celestial bodies in the night sky. The compass made navigation easier and safer by allowing navigation during the day or when the sky was cloudy.
This moving model of a compass features:
- An elegant Technic and SNOT mechanism that allows the compass needle to rotate by turning the handle at the back
- A Navigator minifigure with compass (includes two different heads for you to customise your minifig)
- An Easter egg inside! As a tribute to the original ‘LEGO Pirates’ sets, hidden inside is a printed 2x2 tile featuring the first LEGO treasure map (released 1989) – X marks the spot!
This model consists of 174 LEGO pieces. It will look great on display alongside the LEGO Globe (21332) and Ship in a Bottle (21313/92177).
