Spelunking

Spelunking is the exploration of caves. When people think of cave some may see it as just a hole in the ground but a cave has much more to offer. Cave are a result of millions of years of erosion that form a network tunnels that can go very far and very deep. Caves are completely new environment that are home to thousands of different creatures such as bats, spiders, and fungi who have adapted to live in these dark conditions. Also caves can go very deep underground which means many discoveries can be made such as fossils and gemstones that you don't see on the surface. Caves have also been an early source of shelter for early man and paintings can be found drawn on the wall depicting what their life was like thousands of years of go. This is why going spelunking is my dream vacation because of the feeling of discovery.
