Vacation in the South of France
Fontaine de Vaucluse
The river Sorgue wells up
from a hole in the ground that is at least 300 meters deep and not fully
explored. At the time of melting snow, it wells up with much force, but in
summer it is more peaceful. If you go near, you can see very far down, because
the water is very clear.
Kiosk
When you get to Fontaine de Vaucluse on a hot summer’s day, you are greeted
by many restaurants, kiosks and souvenir shops, with prices rising up to the
occasion.
Raft
It is said you can cross the river
Ardeche in summer without getting your feet wet, just by stepping from one
tourist’s canoe to the next.
Tent
If you go camping, you may wonder if the tent is still there on your
return from a day trip, or if the Mistral wind has blown it away.
French bread
The French
bread has only a few varieties (“baguette” and “flute”) that are
not so different to begin with. But with olives, tomatoes and salat it makes a very good lunch on a hot day. And they have 300 sorts of
cheese to choose from!
