The Secret Experiment

On a small desk rests a mysterious, glowing artifact. A nearby computer screen displays an unusual chart. The presence of a few flasks and jars suggests this is a laboratory. However, there are three large receptacles in this room connected to heavy duty hoses. The entire system, what ever it is meant to do, seems filled with some unknown fluid. Something very strange is happening here.

How many unseen pipes throughout the Tower are involved with this apparatus? Have we an actual mad scientist in our midst?
