The History of Legos
1932 (Above)
Ole Kirk sets up a business in Denmark that makes wooden toys, the most famous of which is a wooden duck pull-along toy.
1934
The company takes on the name LEGO which is formed from the Danish words "Leg godt" which means "Play well"
1949 (Above)
LEGO molds the first LEGO bricks, which are missing the tubes that LEGOs have today, that help with "Clutch Power".
1955
LEGO releases "LEGO System of Play" which has 28 sets plus 8 vehicles.
1958 (Above)
The LEGO company adds tubes to the inside of LEGO bricks, making all your models sturdier.
1969
LEGO DUPLO sets are first released.
1977
LEGO TECHNIC is first released.
1978 (Above)
The first set with a minifigure is released, which is a policeman and a police car that is to small to fit the minifigure.
So there you have it, the history of Legos. This isn't the most accurate Lego timeline, but it does tell a story and that's what they wanted for this contest.
