The Great Gatsby Pop-Up
The Great Gatsby pop-up story features the prominent mansions of Jay Gatsby (left) and Tom and Daisy Buchanan (right), corresponding with the twin peninsulas of the West Egg and East Egg. Gatsby's colossal house includes his yellow car and pool; Tom and Daisy's Georgian Colonial includes the iconic green light which captivates Gatsby from afar. The faded old billboard looks down from between them upon the Valley of Ashes, where George Wilson's Garage sits at the center of the story and dusty construction sites signify industrial expansion. A giant crane raises and folds neatly with the book. The corner elements display a patch of land for Nick Carraway's modest home (with Gatsby's floral additions) and a streak of waves evoking the recurring theme of bodies of water in the novel, ultimately representing the ceaseless struggle against the currents of life.
