Big Thunder Mountain
What Disney means to me… for me, it has to be, Big Thunder Mountain, which is a mine train roller coaster located at Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park in Paris. Next year (2024) marks its 45th anniversary of making magical memories for thousands of people around the world.
Build is 300 pieces with the ability to add additional hair and torso pieces so the builder can add their own personal touch such as a minifig of themselves or loved ones and create a truly customisable build reflecting on their own cherished memories from the ride.
I constructed a prototype of this design, using physical bricks. The train is firmly secured to the model, preventing any unintended movement.
This ride also has a personal magical memory for my wife, who went on this ride at Disneyland Park in Paris when it was in its 5th year anniversary. She had a photo of her, her mother and father all on the ride from when she was young. This inspired me to make this build.
