Walt Disney Studios - The Golden Era
Everybody knows about Walt Disney Studios and has their own favorite film from them, but by far their most important films came from the Golden Era. The Golden Era consisted of five films, all of which were among the first ever animated films using only animations cells. These movies were Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi. Each of these films took years to make and helped form some of the greatest animators in history such as Art Babbitt and Milt Kahl.
When a contest was announced on Ideas on celebrating Disney's 100th anniversary, I knew this era of animation had to be represented. This build consists of five micro-scenes of each of the films that can clip off of the main structure. Also included are five minifigures, Snow White, Pinocchio, Sorcerer Mickey, and the two men who started it all: Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.
I feel like this idea is perfect for a 100th anniversary set and is a reminder of how a giant company came to be.
