Build, Connect, & Command Wireless System
Have you ever had the displeasure of knocking over a well placed minifigure (or two) while trying to defend your meticulously built Lego castle? Has the dreaded thought of “now what?” creeped into your mind after many hours of building an intricate spacecraft? Does your police-base seem dull, frozen like a white-and-blue statuary with nothing to kindle the spark of imaginary play?
Fear not, for the idea of Build, Connect & Command is here to save the day!
Dreadful rhymes aside, the idea is simple. Using wireless internet, Lego's near-infinite buildability, and ever-available mobile phones, this idea proposes a system that lets sets undertake specific actions via verbal commands received via cell phone.
First, an app is downloaded onto the customer's phone (photo 1). Then, upon the app's opening, a verbal command (say, "catch them!") is recorded and sent from the phone via the customer's wireless system (photo 2) to the Lego set with Build & Command (we'll use a police station as an example). The command will be received by the Tower part of the system, activating a blue light (photo 3) to show the command has been received & is being processed. The Tower will then sent out two commands; the first to the Tractor part of the system that launches a Lego car (photo 4), and the second to the Turret part of the system that activates a turret that discharges a dart (photo 5).
From the voice command from the app, to the processing of the command through the Tower and undertaking of the command via the Tractor (vehicle launcher) and Turret (projectile launcher), Build & Command would greatly enhance the play-value of larger, more static sets (like huge sci-fi ships, or delicate medieval castles that, at a vocal command, launch "jousting" knights) by utilizing existing, cost-effective mechanisms (like the voice recorders of cell phones) to bring greater connectivity between the imagination of customers and the infinite capacity of Lego sets!
