Lego Drone Piece

My idea is a voice-activated, flying Lego Technic Piece. Lego has no sets or pieces that can actually fly and be controlled. This piece will encourage children to learn, experiment, and play with aviation and flight.

My drone piece would be simple; a square Lego plate piece with propellers on the side. By using voice commands such as "liftoff" or "fly", the piece would promptly lift off of the ground a few inches. Height could be controlled by a "higher" or "lower" command that gives more or less power to the propellers. Different colored lights on the front and back of the drone could allow the builder to see where the front and back of the drone are, letting them give commands such as "forward", "backward", "left", or "right", allowing for simple voice-activated controls.

One of the most important details about this piece is that the top can be built on top of. This will allow for the builder to decorate their drone in whatever way they want, but more importantly, it will allow for children to experiment with aviation and flight, by having to balance their drones to allow for it to fly. If one side has one too many pieces and is too heavy, the drone will tip over, and the builder will have to subtract or add on additional Lego pieces to their drone.

I can see this piece being used for learning in classrooms, played with, or shown off to friends. With multiple drones, you could have a race with them, or maybe even a drone fight.

Voice Commands:
Liftoff: Lifts the drone off of the ground.
Land: Brings the drone slowly down to the ground.
Forward: Moves the drone forward.
Backward: Moves the drone backward.
Up: Moves the drone up.
Down: Moves the drone down.
Left: Moves the drone left.
Right: Moves the drone right.
Emergency: Immediately stops the drone.
Speed One: Sets the drone to speed level one.
Speed Two: Sets the drone to speed level two.
Speed Three: Sets the drone to speed level three.
Balance Test: Lightly lifts the drone off of the ground to test if it's balanced correctly.
