LEGO Boost Voice-Controller Plotter Printer
My idea for this
contest entry is a plotter printer using a pen and paper that converts your
spoken words to written words on paper.
Simply talk to the
LEGO Boost app on your smart device’s microphone to start recording. The app
will connect to the LEGO Boost hub via Bluetooth and the printer will write the
words you have said out loud on the sheet of paper. The app converts your
spoken words into individual letters, and each letter has a programmed set of
instructions for the printer to write each letter.
The voice-controlled plotter printer uses a LEGO Boost Hub and 1 LEGO Boost motor. The Boost hub
uses its 2 motors to control the X and Y axis on the paper. Motor ‘A’ will move
the conveyor belt back and forth along the X axis and motor ‘B’ will rotate
wheels that will roll the sheet of paper up and down the Y axis. The separate
Boost motor in port ‘C’ attached to the writing head on the conveyor belt
raises and lowers the ink pen on the paper.
The LEGO Boost Plotter Printer features:
-Boost Hub and Boost
Motor
-Conveyor belt
connected with gears
-Wheels with rubber
tires that roll the paper
-Elastic bands to hold
the pen in the pen holder and to also add pressure when writing
-There is space behind
the conveyor belt bar for the paper to freely roll in and out of the printer.
What can this plotter
printer be used for?
-Write “hand-written”
notes for friends/family. Looks great if you have poor hand writing!
-write your homework while playing video games by simply dictating your book
report out loud!
-be used as a real
printer for printing any text .txt document.
