Voice Activated LEGO Brick Sorter and Collector

Have you ever wanted to build your LEGO creation without the hassle of searching for the desired pieces?  Building is much more enjoyable when all the pieces you may need are right in front of you. Conveniently, the Voice Activated LEGO Brick Sorter and Collector (VALBSAC) is a LEGO robot will do just that -- helping you build your LEGO creations more efficiently. All you need to do is tell VALBSAC which bricks you want, in what color, and how many.  VALBSAC has two parts, a sorting mechanism that sorts loose bricks into their correct bins and a collecting mechanism that collects desired pieces for you as you build.

Brick Collector: Collects desired bricks from sorted bins.

1. One motor controls the movement of VALBSAC on train tracks, moving side-to-side along a row of sorted LEGO trays.
   
2. Four motors power an elevator that moves up and down the column of trays.
   
3. Two motors use tires to pull a specific tray into the elevator.
   
4. A pneumatic arm with a brick-recognizing sensor goes into the tray to select the desired bricks and drops them into a collecting bucket.
   
5. The tray is pushed back in place with the tires.
   
6. The bucket is lowered with the elevator down onto the table where it dispenses the collected pieces in front of you.
   

Floor version: For larger bins along the floor (image 3).  The train and elevator are the same, but at a larger scale. VALBSAC collects the desired LEGO bricks into a bucket on a conveyor belt, which brings the bricks onto the table.

Brick Sorter: Sorts loose bricks into proper trays (image 4)

1. A large container with unsorted bricks is put on top of the elevator (image 4).
   
2. The pneumatic arm with a brick-recognizing sensor picks up a brick from the container.
   
3. The elevator and train move to the appropriate tray.
   
4. Two motors use tires to pull the tray into the elevator. The pneumatic arm then releases the brick into the tray.  
   
5. The tray is pushed back in place with the tires.
