Lego Voice Controlled Projection Mapping

Projection mapping is the projecting of videos onto 3 dimensional surfaces, such as Lego bricks. Voice controlled projection mapping would be fun because it would expand the building experience. It would do this by allowing one blank minifigure head to become the face of a thousand expressions, or by allowing white Lego bricks to become bricks of infinite colors. These are just a few of the applications for this technology. This technology would also solve the problem of not having enough Lego bricks or the right colors. As described earlier, it could take any light colored brick and make it the users desired color, and instead of needing a multitude of minifigure heads to convey a wide range of emotions, only one is needed.
This technology works by integrating voice control and projection into one Lego module. It would have a powered up cable in the back that would integrate it with the current powered up system. The audio receiver is placed in the front which allows the module to pick up voice commands. The program that would accompany the module would have predefined commands such as the ones demonstrated in the provided examples. "Smile" would make a smile expression appear on a minifigure head. "Teal" would make the selected bricks turn teal. The program would also introduce the users to projection mapping by allowing them to select the surfaces to be projected on. Since it is voice controlled, once the program is created, it can be activated at any time which would enhance displays and play. Once users learn the basics of the program, it could be expanded on by creating custom projections that have video playing, instead of still images, which would bring Lego bricks to life. A minifigure projection could be used to make minifgures come to life by talking and having moving facial features. The projection mapping would be controlled by voice commands, and it would enhance the creativity and build experience of the user.
