Raising Lego Pets
I would like to propose the idea of building interactive, voice controlled, responsive, pets using Lego bricks. The pets need not be standard cats, hamsters, and dogs, but would only be limited by the imagination of the creator, and could be as fun as a Mixel stylized fire hydrant. In addition to voice control, the plethora of sensors and motors available using the Boost system could really bring the friend to life.
There has been a history of success with interactive pet products in the past, such as Tamagotchi, Furbies, and Hatchimals. However, these toys are limited in form, and lack replay value. With modern voice recognition techniques, not only would a Lego pet be able to respond and interact with a child, but it could also be built upon and enhanced. Over time, the pet could be shaped and moulded, and could be asked whether or not they would like attention, to be fed, played with, or to have something new built for them.
