The Lego Switch Plate: A True Smart Home Device

There are so many options for turning your home into a smart home these days, but are any of them really all that smart? Some require hubs, others neutral wires, others can’t take a fan load, while some don’t even resemble a light switch in the first place. Even worse, if the “smart switch” breaks, now you can’t even turn on your lights. What is a smart home owner to do?

Introducing the revolutionary Lego Switch Plate! Keep your old light switches, just attach a voice activated Lego hand that can flip the switch for you. The benefits are amazing. It can be installed over any decora switch, whether it’s single pole or 3-way, powers lights, a fan, or your kitchen disposal. Plus since it’s Lego, you can even modify it to fit over your garage door opener or any other remote in the house!

Operating the switch is simple, just say “Hey Lego, turn on the lights”, “Hey Lego, turn off the lights”, or if you’ll be away and need some extra security “Hey Lego, set the lights to vacation mode”. Best of all, since you still have a regular switch, my wife will be thrilled that she can still operate the switch with her hands!

Have a multiple gang box? No problem, the modular design allows for infinite expansion! If your worried about naming the switches, it’s simple, place your favorite Lego minifigures over each switch and say “Hey Lego, turn on Darth Vader” or “Hey Lego, turn off Garmadon”. Of course it goes without saying that you can build it in any color you wish.

Powering it is also simple, either power it thru your neutral wire if one is available, or attach a rechargeable Lego battery to the outside of the plate.

Best of all, this is a smart device so it will integrate with Alexa, Google Home, or any other platform that you use. So you can be playing with your Legos while your at work (and your boss will be none the wiser)!
