Mt-MT (Moon to Mars Traveler)
Mt-MT (Moon to Mars Traveler)
A multi-stage spaceship for transporting men and cargo from the surface of the Moon to the surface of Mars and back. The ship is three stages: one for launching/landing on Mars (red), one for trans-orbital travel (black), and one for launching/landing on the Moon (grey). The technical and visual design of each stage is based on the environment it has to address. The Mars stage is larger due to the greater gravity on Mars vs. the Moon as well as having a heat shield (white paneling) for protection from the atmosphere. The trans-orbital stage never lands and thus lacks crew quarters, a cargo hold, and protective paneling. The overall result is two solid habitable bodies connected by a minimal frame.
