Pelican 1 Rocket
This design was inspired by how some satellites look. It has a crew section, which holds one Minifigure. It also has two fuel tanks on the back and two foldable solar panels. The solar panels are facing the direction the Sun would be when traveling to Mars. The panels can fold inward when not needed or when the rocket is being launched into space.
The model uses some advanced building techniques. The studs change directions from the front to the back. I did this to create an oval shape on the top of the crew section. The build also has interesting part usage. On the front of the rocket I used large claw pieces to wrap around the front. The front of the solar panels uses collectable minifigure stands in white. On the back of the panels I used railing pieces to have bars for the astronaut to hold on to. To finish off the Pelican 1, I put various gold elements to accent the rocket.
