Runner up
"The Lunar to Mars Embedded"
“The Lunar to Mars Embedded Spacecraft” (LME) is built
within the core of a dislodged moon rock. The rock, being rich in ice, is used
as both a shield and a fuel source. The LME is designed to carry smaller spacecraft with it on its long haul to mars. These included: two scout ships, the
Verdigris Landing shuttle, and the Jupiter rover. During the trek they will be used for maintenance
and ice mining. Once the LME reaches mars orbit, the Verdigris and Jupiter will be
used to land on and explore the surface. The initial launch will be a sling
shot maneuver around the moon after which the engines keep a steady thrust on
route to Mars!
