IEP Colossus
IEP (interplanetary exploration platform) Colossus is a
fully self contained deep space platform capable of travelling to Mars and
beyond.
The platform will be fabricated on the Moon surface
and assembled in lunar orbit. Once completed it will be 790 metres
long with the
outside diameter of the habitat anulus being 225 metres.The platform will have a crew of 90 people and include: maintenance technicians, system technicians, cooks, scientists, flight crews and construction technicians.
On the outer hull, it will carry four landing modules and
four shuttles, along with the assembled fuel and booster rockets. Inside it will carry the provisions, machinery and material to build a self contained habitat on Mars and a Shuttle Launch pad.
Tech Specs:
The model is 790 mm long, with the main hull being from 90
to 100 mm in diameter and the outside diameter of the annulus being 225
mm and it weighs over 2 kg. The landing modules, shuttles and fuel-booster assemblies are all removable.
