M4 - IOS Olympus Bound

When the LEGO Space Exploration Fleet was told to design a Moon Mars mission, rumour has it they locked their best scientists in a room and told them to science the stud out of it. So they did.

The IOS Olympus Bound uses the new Nuclear Thermal Propulsion Unit, using hydrogen to provide constant acceleration and deceleration on its voyage, and so an element of "gravity" for the microfigures aboard. In emergency, the reactor can be discarded and the IOS will go zero-g and coast until rescue or evacuation.

The habitat is based on a modular cubesat style approach, constructed on the lunar surface and coated in Moon manufactured plating from local Moon regolith to provide radiation protection. Resource tanks and equipment under the habitat provide life support and recycling with solar power. No aerodynamics!

Shepherd satellites provide maintenance support and Nautilus is the crew's escape and if need be landing vehicle. The comms array keeps contact with home.
