Deimos II Landing Craft

The Deimos II Lander is designed to touch down - and lift off - Mars or any other planet with less gravity than Earth's. It makes use of large tilted wings to glide close to the surface and front thrusters to come to a standstill before gently dropping on wing-mounted reinforced skids and unfolding its rear ladder. To leave the red planet, the pilot simply flies like a jet plane into the outer atmosphere and can then attach to an orbital craft. The nose of the ship is fabricated specifically to fit a bowl-shaped pre-docking catcher that moves the lander into a safe docking position; this saves lander adjustment fuel, gives the orbital craft a slight acceleration, and provides precise docking control directly attached to the airlock.
Also, in case you were wondering, Deimos is one of Mars' two moons.
