Moon to Mars Hybrid Transporter
Born from the union between classic rocket models and reusable spaceship design, the Moon to Mars Hybrid Transporter is the perfect solution for safe and affordable travels, carrying 4 astronauts including the pilot.
The Transporter can rest standing, docked near a permanent Moon base. The liftoff procedure is similar to one of a classic rocket, but no extra structure is needed. Once in flying mode, the Tranporter can easily change its shape from landing to cruising mode thanks to its 4 foldable legs.
When the Transporter is close to Mars surface, it can use its 4 small engines (located under the hull) to slow down and to change its orientation to perpendicular to the ground. Then the legs will be extended and the main engine will conclude the descent. Once landed, the lower cargo door will open to deploy the solar panel array that will recharge the batteries. The upper cargo door provides an easy passage to the surface of the planet for astronauts equipped with EVA suits.
