Children of Prometheus
Here we see the Aidos on her long-planned voyage to Mars. She is named for the last of the ancient Greek gods to leave the Earth, according to Hesiod. But he believed our best eras were behind us and that worse times inevitably lay ahead. Any venture in science denies this view and this ship represents a bright, hopeful future. Mars may one day be a beautiful, blue and green world. Myths and legends may inspire us – in a poetic sense. We no longer believe in the canals of Schiaparelli and Lowell, at least not as constructions of long-vanished Martians. However, when we are the Martians, who knows what we’ll build?
In mythology, Aidos was the daughter of Prometheus. In LEGO, she's 314 parts.
