Comet Donati, 1858
Comet Donati is a long-period comet, discovered by Italian astronomer Giovanni Donati on June 2, 1858. It is the first comet that was captured in a photograph and is considered one of the most beautiful comets of the 19th century. Back in its time, its magnificence made a huge impression on the general public, especially among artists, sparking interest in astronomy and giving rise to a great number of picturesque paintings. Its return is expected in the XXXIX century, approximately in the year 3811.
