1950s Clown Car
Popularized by circuses in the 1950s, this miniscule car was able to humorously cram dozens of clowns into a really tiny space. Usually built using a custom car kit designed to appear small, circuses would strip the car interiors bare — removing seats, liners, trunk and engine barriers, to pack in more madcap clowns. Inside the vehicle, dozens of clowns would be contorted in amusing poses in order to fill in every inch of space. As the gag is performed for an audience, the miniature vehicle unloads an implausible amount of clowns for maximum hilarity.
This LEGO set features a tiny vintage clown car that is able to transport a maximum of three clowns and a monkey! The three clowns are named Howdy, Rowdy, and Har Har, and they’re part of the HAHA Brothers circus troupe. In order to fit inside the vehicle, the brothers have had to throw out several items from the vehicle, including a banana, an accordion, a pie, a hat, and their pet monkey, Santiago.
