Swanling and Caterbuddy

Officially, they're called cygnets, but my girlfriend introduced them to me enthousiastically as "swanlings" when we once went for a walk in the neighborhood. Soon, these adorable baby swans became the closest thing we've ever had to a pet. Almost every day we went for a walk to catch up with the daily adventures of the local nest of swanlings.

What do these adventures include? Well, if they're not floating (more or less) in formation behind their parents or posing for pictures, we would often find our swanlings huddled together in one big fluffy bunch where one swanling would crawl right over one of its brothers or sisters. I'm not sure what they liked more: climbing or being climbed over!

So that's why in my brick painting I imagined a swanling playing "climb me" together with a newfound caterpillar buddy. Imagine all the adventures that they might still go on!
